I talk to chronic pain patients every day who are frustrated and unsure about how to better address the weakness and compensations they are left dealing with from long-term pain and illness that often result in increased back pain from sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time, making everyday life a torture.
They’ve done PT over and over, seen the best specialists, done every procedure, tried multiple movement modalities, and still feel stuck with the most basic positions and parts of daily life being intolerable. I get it, because I felt the same.
People’s additional issues chronic pain alongside complex diagnosis are often not addressed because there’s so many more major issues that distract from underlying drivers. There are so many reasons for pain as it gets more complex and long-term, but what almost always gets neglected, is the brain map and sensory deficits/distractions the patient is trying to create changes in.
This is what makes the weaknesses that create positional intolerance with sitting, standing or walking such an issue despite practitioners best efforts. And it is not as simple as, go to the Dr who will diagnose my pain or PT who will make it go away. So what can YOU as a patient do to improve this?
Look at the Foundation
I felt obligated to create this webinar because too many of us hit a ceiling we are told is good enough but we know is not. We know we need a different approach to be able to better tolerate sitting, standing and walking, but all that is offered is stab and jab or conservative methods that don’t work for us. Why? They’re not getting to a major root of the long-term problem…
Learn What Your Brain Needs
This is the solution if you have tried everything else but are still not where you want to be, because if you haven’t improved your proprioception (the information your brain is basing movement decisions on) with strategies that address your sensory deficits, you really have not given yourself a fair shot. Still being in pain is not your fault, it’s your brain screaming at you for a sensory solution you haven’t been able to give it yet.
Sensory Solutions: Transformative Techniques for Chronic Pain
-
Live Workshop on Zoom
This is a 90 min webinar where we explore various upper and lower extremity neuro techniques for back pain to improve reflexive stability, weakness/spasm cycles, pain from compensations, brain mapping issues, and sensory challenges that make sitting, standing and walking for longer periods of time very difficult. Complex pathologies like CRPS, hypermobility, neurodivergence, neuropathies etc
-
Integrate Neuro Techniques
create further challenges in muscle recruitment that reinforce poor patterns. You'll not only learn the why behind these techniques, but specific exercises and cues you can regularly use to improve your tolerance to these positions. Want actionable tips that immediately transfer to how you move outside of class so you can start sitting, standing and walking with less pain? Don't miss out!
Being unable to tolerate certain positions for long also shrinks our exercise selection and perpetuates the weakness/inhibition drivers to our pain output. It’s critical to improve so your world doesn’t become smaller and smaller.
Other workshops just give you the education without the implementation. Not this one. I’ll teach you specific exercises with cues that are guaranteed to improve your muscle activation and decrease back pain even if you have complicating co-existing conditions from a sensory perspective like hypermobility, neurodivergence, central sensitization etc.
I’m super excited to announce Sensory Solutions: Transformative Techniques for Chronic Back Pain.
You can’t build a house of cards on a shaky, cracked foundation with your brain working with missing or inaccurate information. Or rather, you can, but it will end in more pain, weakness and brain mapping issues over time. I’ve been there…
Details:
Date/time: Saturday October 26th. 10am PST/1pm EST USA.
Will there be a recording? Yes! Please don’t stress if you can’t make it live and still be sure to sign up. However, please do your best to come LIVE to so you actually feel the movement on the call/work through it with me, ask questions and get a special bonus to better integrate the material.
What should I know in advance? Wear comfortable enough clothing you can do some movement in ideally :) This will be very cool to feel in your own body and it is extra special live together. It is of course fine to just watch and try the techniques later if you feel more comfortable.
Cost: This is a FREE workshop. Please share this link with your friends so more patients can get access to this education.
Other info: I’ll be opening up my 8-week group movement program at the end of the workshop. There is no pressure to purchase, but there will be a special discount for workshop registrants. Very excited to finally reveal this as promised to you all before the end of this year!
Who is this for? This is for you if you:
Suffer from chronic low back or hip pain in particular.
Shift weight from a painful extremity or really struggle to be still in any position for long.
Always have increased pain from sitting, standing or walking and struggle to maintain those positions for long
Have tried and ‘failed’ PT over and over
You do massage therapy and you feel better short term, but it blows you up afterwards
Have done procedures like botox and trigger points and still can’t get to the root of why something hurts
Have neuropathies that have decreased sensation in areas
Have co-existing pathologies that affect your sensory information like CRPS, hypermobility, neurodivergence
Have ports of stimulators that make it hard for you to feel/recruit parts of your body where they are implanted.
If you have to use assistive devices to get around that affect how you load sides of your body
This webinar happened live Saturday, October 26th and has now passed. There may be a replay available on the website in the future.
